How to choose a hose timer for lawn watering
Print using your browser’s Print command, or save as PDF. This is a blank planning checklist, not a product test.
Before you choose
Use this checklist with the current manual and listing. Borrowing, renting or keeping working equipment may fit the job better than buying.
- Connection and supply
Check faucet thread, operating pressure, required batteries and weather limits in the exact manual.
- Schedule and restrictions
Check whether the available interval and start settings can follow your watering rules. One outlet does not mean independently controlled zones.
- Manual test and rain
Test shutoff and the manual mode while present; use rain delay where appropriate. A timer is not a soil-moisture sensor.
- Keep or replace
Keep an existing timer if it meets the job. Fix leaks and uneven sprinkler coverage separately.
